Educational programs

Bullying, discipline, relationship breakups, self-esteem, parent-child communication, performance pressure... These issues are all too familiar to young people and their parents. To take the intervention provided through their phone and online consultations one step further, the Tel-jeunes and LigneParents services offer elementary and secondary students, as well as their parents and educators, the option of participating in interactive workshops on a variety of topics. These workshops are led by professional counsellors.

Program objectives:

  • Ensure a presence in the field, i.e. at schools and community organizations, through educational services adapted to the target clienteles
  • Provide our telephone/online intervention expertise through workshops and conferences (lunch meetings)
  • Analyze, design and implement new tools tailored to the needs of young people, their parents and their families

Aider c'est branché !

Program sponsored by ING DIRECT

Tel-jeunes founded the Aider, c’est branché ! program over 10 years ago to meet the needs of youth who contact Tel-jeunes because they want to help out a friend in distress. These young people are watch guards for those around them, and the problems they help with are often challenging (suicidal thoughts, drug or alcohol use, violence, etc.). They need support if they are to help their peers without overestimating their real abilities. The Aider, c’est branché ! program gives them an opportunity to improve their helping skills through interactive workshops led by professional Tel-jeunes counsellors.

Intimider, c’est dépassé !

Bullying is an all-too common reality for young people. Everyone plays a role, be it as a victim, an aggressor or a witness. And with the latest technologies, bullying extends far beyond the boundaries of the school yard. The Intimider, c’est dépassé ! program underscores the importance of putting a stop to bullying and preventing its occurrence.

Love and Sexuality

Romantic relationships, sexuality, body image and the desire to please are all topics of concern to young people. Nearly 45% of the requests for help made to Tel-jeunes involve these issues.

Être parent, ça s'apprend

LigneParents reaches out to parents in schools, the community and professional milieus to provide them with workshops on parenting skills.
